ice clouds sunk below

ice clouds sunk below
meltwater reflecting trees,
clusters of red berries

Melting ice sunk below the surface of Pilgrim Creek makes cloud patterns that seem to float above the trees reflected in the dark water. Piebald patches of snow on the banks, full of animal tracks. A shrub with clusters of bright red berries leans out over the edge of a high bank, like cherries on top of a chocolate and vanilla marble cake.
